The irreducible highest weight representations $V(mρ)$ occupy a distinguished position in representation theory due to their rich symmetry and geometric significance. In this paper, we study the tensor products \[ V(mρ)\otimes V(nρ), \quad m,n \in \mathbb{N}, \] and investigate the structure of their irreducible decompositions. Motivated by the classical conjecture of Kostant, which predicts a highly structured behavior in simpler settings, we propose a general framework describing the irreducible components appearing in such tensor products for finite-dimensional semisimple or affine Kac-Moody Lie algebras $\mathfrak{g}$. Our results identify a family of dominant weights governing the decomposition and provide criteria for their occurrence. This work extends the scope of Kostant-type phenomena and reveals new structural patterns in tensor products associated with multiples of the Weyl vector.2026-05-28T11:48:50ZRekha BiswalSam Jeraldshttp://arxiv.org/abs/2405.17174v4Alcove walk models for parabolic Mirković-Vilonen intersections and branching to Levi subgroups2026-05-28T04:12:25ZThis article establishes alcove walk models for intersections of Schubert varieties and partially semi-infinite orbits in the affine Grassmannian of a split reductive group (we call such intersections parabolic Mirković-Vilonen intersections). More precisely, we describe explicit cellular pavings of these intersections, indexed by certain positively-folded alcove walks. We prove a parametrization of the irreducible components of maximal possible dimension, in terms of alcove walks of maximal possible dimension. We then deduce a new combinatorial description of branching to Levi subgroups of irreducible highest weight representations, and in particular we give a new algorithm for computing the characters of such representations.2024-05-27T13:52:39Z19 pages, 1 figure. Haineshttp://arxiv.org/abs/2605.29094v1Reduction of Symmetry in Quaternionic Analysis and Invariant Trilinear Forms2026-05-27T20:52:11ZIn our previous papers we repeatedly emphasized the special role in Quaternionic Analysis of the conformal group SU(2,2) and other real forms of its complexification SL(4,C). In particular, the natural product map of the left and right regular functions into a larger representation that contains the doubly regular functions as a subquotient is an intertwining operator. In this paper we show, however, that the spaces of regular and doubly regular functions do not "interact" - there is no invariant trilinear form on the tensor product of these representations.
To construct a natural invariant trilinear form, we reduce the conformal group symmetry to the symplectic subgroup Sp(4,R). This suggests a new approach to the Quaternionic Analysis in general, and we make the first steps in this paper. It turns out that the spaces of regular and doubly regular functions are still irreducible after the restriction to the symplectic subgroup and have a composed structure arising from the metaplectic representation of the double cover of Sp(4,R) - the metaplectic group. This also leads us to consider the double covers of the quaternionic spaces and non-trivial pairings between them. Our study of Quaternionic Analysis based on the symplectic symmetry group culminates in the construction of the invariant trilinear forms on the products of spaces of doubly regular functions and certain counterparts of regular and quasi regular functions.
Additional motivation for constructing invariant trilinear forms comes from their application to spinor representations of certain quaternionic algebras based on the doubly regular functions. The latter can be viewed as the space of solutions of the Maxwell equation, and their spinor representations are of a great importance to quantum field theory. These spinor representations will be the subject of a forthcoming paper.2026-05-27T20:52:11Z78 pages, 7 figures, submittedIgor FrenkelMatvei Libinehttp://arxiv.org/abs/2605.28983v1The Hamilton-Jacobi Theory of Deep Learning2026-05-27T18:38:23ZIn this paper, training a neural network is identified, exactly, as a search through Hamilton--Jacobi initial-value problems: each gradient step selects the initial data of a viscous Hamilton--Jacobi equation whose Hopf--Cole propagator best fits the observations; at inference, the input is the spatial point at which that solution is evaluated and the initial condition is already encoded in the weights. The correspondence is exact for log-sum-exp layers and structural for broader architectures: residual networks, transformers, and recurrent architectures (RNNs, LSTMs, SSMs) each discretize the same class of Hamilton--Jacobi equations, with architecture-dependent Hamiltonian and viscosity. A single deformation parameter $\varepsilon$ unifies all four perspectives (network, tropical algebra, viscous PDE, convex optimization) in a commutative diagram closed under Lipschitz conditions. Quantitative consequences include: the minimax optimal generalization rate $O(n^{-1/(d+2)})$ for fixed $t$; adversarial robustness controlled by $\varepsilon$; backpropagation as the co-state equation of the Hamiltonian system for residual networks (Pontryagin Maximum Principle); scaling exponents consistent with data intrinsic dimension via PDE quadrature; and a closed-form $O(N)$ influence function (softmax attribution weights $π_j$) whose entropy landscape undergoes fold bifurcations as $\varepsilon$ increases, each merging attribution basins.2026-05-27T18:38:23ZJose Marie Antonio MiñozaErika Fille T. Let $\mathfrak q^ξ$ denote the stabiliser of $ξ\in\mathfrak q^*$. In the special case when $\mathfrak q^ξ\oplus\mathfrak h=\mathfrak q$, our estimate implies that $\mathsf{ind\,}\mathfrak h=0$. Using our theory, we also answer a question of Duflo. An orbit $Q{\cdot}η\subset\mathfrak q^*$ is said to be strange, if $\mathfrak q^η\oplus\mathfrak h=\mathfrak q$ for some $\mathfrak h$. In the second part of the paper, we study strange orbits for a semisimple algebra $\mathfrak g$. It is shown that an orbit ${\mathcal O}\subset\mathfrak g\simeq\mathfrak g^*$ is strange whenever the complexity of ${\mathcal O}$ is at most 1. Furthermore, if ${\mathcal S}\subset\mathfrak g$ is a sheet containing a strange nilpotent orbit, then all orbits in ${\mathcal S}$ are strange. We also show that strange orbits in $\mathfrak{sl}_n$ are not as sparse, as one might expect, and discuss some conjectures on strange orbits.2026-05-27T17:51:40Z25 ppDmitri I. We show the existence and uniqueness up to homotopy of certain distinguished chain complexes satisfying good homological properties (higher almost split complexes) preserved under tensoring by objects in $\mathcal{R}_Q$. As a crucial ingredient for this construction, we establish the existence of a family of complete exceptional sequences in $\mathrm{mod}\,\mathbf{k}Q$ satisfying many good properties, which we believe might be of independent interest. We then prove that when $Q$ admits a height function, the Euler characteristics of (the images under certain additive functor of) these complexes coincide with the truncated $q$-characters of the standard modules in Hernandez-Leclerc's category $\mathcal{C}^{(1)}$. Applying our results to the case where the underlying graph of $Q$ is a Dynkin diagram of type $A_n, n \geq 1$, we also interpret the cluster characters of all cluster variables in the finite type cluster algebra $\mathcal{A}_Q$ as Euler characteristics of certain chain complexes in $\mathcal{R}_Q$.2026-05-27T16:14:25Z36 pages, 2 figures. This paper focuses on type A and regards Schubert matroid polytopes as fundamental prime MV building blocks.
Using the crystal structure on MV polytopes, we strengthen Sanchez's compatibility condition and establish a necessary and sufficient condition: the positive Minkowski sum of such polytopes is again an MV polytope precisely when the indexing family is weakly separated. Working within discrete convex analysis, we relate discrete concave tropical Plücker functions to concave extensions on the hypercube and the resulting generalized matroid subdivisions, showing that weak separation is equivalent to the stability of these subdivisions under common refinement.
We further clarify the intrinsic connection between our subdivision constructions and the hypersimplex matroid subdivisions developed by Early, providing a natural flag-type generalization of his classical results. We briefly discuss generalized positroids and generalized polypositroids, and identify the MV fan $\mathcal{MV}$ as the secondary fan of hypercube generalized positroid subdivisions. Accordingly, maximal weakly separated sets correspond to maximal cones in $\mathcal{MV}$ and produce the finest such subdivisions.
This work unifies MV polytope theory with tropical matroid geometry, advances the understanding of compatibility phenomena in MV combinatorics, and offers new perspectives at the interface of representation theory and combinatorics.2026-05-24T12:02:50Z36 pages, 10 figuresGleb A. KoshevoyFang LiLujun Zhanghttp://arxiv.org/abs/2605.28243v1From geodesic flow to wave dynamics on hyperbolic surfaces2026-05-27T09:57:12ZWe study the geodesic flow on the unit cotangent bundle $M=S^{*}\mathcal{N}$ of a closed hyperbolic surface $\mathcal{N}$, using the representation theory of $SL_{2}(\mathbb{R})$. We construct explicit $X$-adapted Hilbert spaces, obtained by completing propagated dense domains of $L^{2}(M)$, which are tailored to the spectral analysis of the geodesic generator $X$. In these spaces, $X$ becomes a normal operator with discrete spectrum, except at the threshold $μ=1/4$, where Jordan blocks of size two may occur.
In this Hilbert model, the propagator $e^{tX}$ factorizes into a damped harmonic oscillator with eigenvalues $e^{-t(n+1/2)}$, $n\in\mathbb{N}$, and a transverse part involving the shifted wave group $e^{\pm it\sqrt{Δ-1/4}}$ on $\mathcal{N}$, together with the holomorphic and anti-holomorphic discrete series.
The model clarifies two classical links between geodesic dynamics and the Laplace spectrum. Comparing the spectral trace of the propagator in the $X$-adapted Hilbert model with the Atiyah--Bott--Guillemin flat trace gives a dynamical form of the Selberg trace formula: closed geodesics arise from the flat trace, while the spectral side comes from the explicit $SL_{2}(\mathbb{R})$-decomposition. The same factorization also explains the large-time structure of spherical mean operators on $\mathcal{N}$: after the natural $e^{t/2}$-renormalization and the removal of a finite-rank low-energy part, the shifted wave equation on $\mathcal{N}$ emerges as the leading effective dynamics. Thus the construction provides an explicit Hilbert-space structure relating classical geodesic dynamics, Ruelle resonances, and the spectral theory of the surface.2026-05-27T09:57:12ZFrédéric Faurehttp://arxiv.org/abs/2407.13653v4Highest weight category structures on $rep(B)$ and full exceptional collections on generalized flag varieties over $\mathbb Z$2026-05-27T07:52:38ZGiven a split simply connected and connected algebraic group scheme $\mathbb G$ over $\mathbb Z$ and a split parabolic subgroup scheme $\mathbb P\subset \mathbb G$, this paper constructs semi-orthogonal decompositions of the bounded derived category $D^b(\mathrm {rep}( \mathbb P))$ of noetherian representations of $\mathbb P$ with each semi-orthogonal component being equivalent to the bounded derived category $D^b(\mathrm {rep}( \mathbb G))$ of noetherian representations of $\mathbb G$. The semi-orthogonal components of those decompositions are stable under the monoidal action of $D^b(\mathrm {rep}( \mathbb G))$ on $D^b(\mathrm {rep}( \mathbb P))$. The decompositions depend on an arbitrarily chosen total order on the Weyl group that refines the Bruhat order. The semi-orthogonal decompositions are also compatible with the Bruhat order on cosets of the Weyl group of $\mathbb P$ in the Weyl group of $\mathbb G$. Their construction builds upon the foundational results on $\mathbb B$-modules from the works of Mathieu, Polo, and van der Kallen, and upon properties of the Steinberg basis of the $ \mathbb T$-equivariant $K$-theory of $ \mathbb G/\mathbb B$. As a corollary, we obtain full exceptional collections in the bounded derived category of coherent sheaves on generalized flag schemes $\mathbb G/\mathbb P$ over $\mathbb Z$.2024-07-18T16:30:35ZExposition revisedAlexander SamokhinWilberd van der Kallenhttp://arxiv.org/abs/2412.03234v6$\mathrm{PGL}_n(\mathbb{C})$-character stacks and Langlands duality over finite fields2026-05-27T07:21:44ZIn this paper we study the mixed Poincaré polynomial of generic $\mathrm{PGL}_n(\mathbb{C})$-character stacks with coefficients in some local systems arising from the conjugacy classes of $\mathrm{PGL}_n(\mathbb{C})$ which have non-connected stabiliser. Focusing on strongly coupled Argyres-Douglas theories, we show that the corresponding flat bundle over C can be quantized such that the resulting quantum flat connection is integrable. For $sl_2$, the quantum connection takes values in $gl_2$(A) where A is an associative algebra which we explicitly describe for the cases of Painlevé I, II and IV. Recently, they have been generalized to biserial fractional Brauer graph algebras, which can be regarded as a self-injective version of the classical Brauer graph algebras. In this paper, we show that the skew group algebras of biserial fractional Brauer graph algebras induced by the Nakayama automorphism are in fact skew-Brauer graph algebras. We then study two-term tilting complexes and Kauer moves for biserial fractional Brauer graph algebras.
