Additionally, we derive new insights into certain coefficients appearing in one of these identities. The first part of the paper focuses on combinatorial aspects. It is self-contained, of independent interest, and introduces a generalization of parabolic Bruhat graphs for monotone functions on an arborescent poset. The second part examines the intersections of Demazure modules within a given integrable representation. Finally, we propose a generalization of the classical Howe duality for staircase matrices in terms of the corresponding distributive lattice of Demazure submodules. Computing the associated character yields the desired Cauchy identities for staircase matrices. 2025-02-28T16:00:09Z Minor correction, polishing some technical proofs Anton Khoroshkin Ievgen Makedonskyi http://arxiv.org/abs/2606.02993v1 Neural Networks Provably Learn Spectral Representations for Group Composition 2026-06-02T01:04:21Z Understanding how structured internal structure emerges during neural network training is central to the study of deep learning. We investigate this phenomenon through the group composition task, where a two-layer neural network is trained to predict $g_1 \star g_2$ for elements of a finite group $G$. By lifting the projected gradient flow to the Fourier domain, we demonstrate that the training dynamics are governed by a Riemannian gradient ascent on a representation-theoretic energy functional. We prove that, under random initialization, this flow drives each neuron to converge almost surely toward a single irreducible representation, while the cross-layer Fourier coefficients achieve a rotational rank-one alignment. This framework provides a representation-theoretic account of feature learning and characterizes a novel low-rank compression phenomenon for matrix-valued group representations. Moreover, for Abelian groups, we provide a complete population-level description: random initialization promotes uniform diversification across nontrivial representations and induces Haar-uniform phases, jointly approximating the indicator via a majority-vote mechanism. We further prove that both phase alignment and representation competition emerge with exponential convergence rates. 2026-06-02T01:04:21Z Jianliang He Leda Wang Fengzhuo Zhang Siyu Chen Zhuoran Yang http://arxiv.org/abs/2606.02870v1 On maximal Dynkin friezes 2026-06-01T20:33:20Z The maximal entries of Dynkin friezes over the positive integers have recently been determined for all finite Dynkin types except $B_n$ and $D_n$. In this note, we explicitly construct large positive integral points on affine cluster varieties of type $B_n$ (resp. $D_n$), giving rise to friezes of types $B_n$ (resp. $D_n$) over the positive integers with largest entries $F_{n+1} F_{n+2} - 1$ (resp. $F_n F_{n+1} - 1$) where $F_k$ is the $k$-th Fibonacci number. We conjecture that these are the maximal possible entries for their respective Dynkin types. 2026-06-01T20:33:20Z 15 pages Robin Zhang http://arxiv.org/abs/2606.02865v1 On a conjecture concerning totally extremal ideal Perron similarities 2026-06-01T20:29:13Z Identifying ideal Perron similarities is a problem of central interest in the longstanding nonnegative inverse eigenvalue problem (NIEP). A normalized ideal Perron similarity is called totally extremal if every entry has modulus one. Recently, Gershnik et al. [J. Algebra 694 (2026), 782--800] proved that the character table of a finite Abelian group is totally extremal and conjectured the converse. In this paper, we settle this conjecture in the affirmative by first showing that the rows of a totally extremal normalized ideal Perron similarity form a group under the Hadamard product. Then, it is shown that the rows of a nonsingular matrix form a group under the Hadamard product if and only if it is the character table of a finite Abelian group, and we further show that this group is isomorphic to the underlying group. These results extend the classical theorem due to Romanovsky and Karpelevič on the unimodular eigenvalues of stochastic matrices in the complex unit disk to the setting of spectratopes in the unit ball of complex Euclidean space. 2026-06-01T20:29:13Z Erica J. Artemis Pietro Paparella http://arxiv.org/abs/2606.02805v1 On the gap of quiver representations 2026-06-01T19:24:49Z The nullcone membership problem, deciding whether an orbit closure contains the origin, is fundamental in computational invariant theory. For self-adjoint groups, Bürgisser, Franks, Garg, Oliveira, Walter and Wigderson gave a geodesic optimization algorithm whose complexity is controlled by the gap, a condition number of the representation. We study the gap for quiver representations under the action of the special linear group. We prove that the inverse gap is polynomially bounded in the number of vertices and the maximum dimension for type A and $\hat{A}$, as well as tree quivers with uniform dimension vectors. Consequently, the algorithm of Bürgisser et al. solves the nullcone membership problem in polynomial time for these families. In contrast, we construct families of quivers and dimension vectors where the gap is exponentially small in the number of leaves, furthermore, for every connected quiver we exhibit dimension vectors such that the weight margin (a related condition number) is exponentially small in the number of vertices. We also extend our results to $σ$-semistability, thereby giving a new proof of a recent result of Iwamasa, Oki, and Soma. 2026-06-01T19:24:49Z John Maar http://arxiv.org/abs/2606.02531v1 Hybrid Clifford Codes via Operator Algebra Quantum Error Correction and Projective Representation Theory 2026-06-01T17:38:21Z Clifford codes are a natural generalization of quantum stabilizer codes based primarily on representation theory. This class of codes has previously been extended to the setting of quantum subsystem codes. We formulate a two-fold generalization of Clifford codes, for both the hybrid classical and quantum information and projective representation theory settings. This leads to new classes of hybrid subspace and subsystem Clifford codes. We extend the fundamental representation theoretic quantum error correction theorem to include these codes, based on the operator algebra quantum error correction framework. We also discuss several examples throughout the presentation, of both stabilizer and non-stabilizer type. 2026-06-01T17:38:21Z 23 pages Jonas Eidesen David W. Utilizing these solutions, we identify the associated quantum algebra and introduce it as the $\mathfrak{gl}_{k,m}$ Yangian. This newly derived Yangian is distinct from the known Yangian of the general linear Lie superalgebra; crucially, as a Hopf algebra, it possesses the standard tensor product algebra structure. The underlying algebra $\mathfrak{gl}_{k,m}$ is also introduced as a novel structure and constitutes a subalgebra of the Yangian. We then construct specific highest-weight modules of $\mathfrak{gl}_{k,m}$ that simultaneously yield the eigenstates of spin-chain-like ``Hamiltonians'', which are defined as the sum of the generators of the $A$-type braid group. Furthermore, we study the highest-weight representations and the corresponding combinatorial bases for $\mathfrak{gl}_{1,1}$, explicitly linking them to specific shapes of Young tableaux. 2026-05-15T16:05:32Z 18 pages, LaTex. Let $ρ$ be an irreducible representation of $G$ over $\mathbb{Q}$. Then $ρ$ affords the character \[ Ω(χ)=m_{\mathbb{Q}}(χ)\sum_{σ\in\operatorname{Gal}(\mathbb{Q}(χ)/\mathbb{Q})}χ^σ, \] for some irreducible complex character $χ$ of $G$, where $m_{\mathbb{Q}}(χ)$ denotes the Schur index of $χ$ over $\mathbb{Q}$, with the converse also holding. We obtain a combinatorial description for the counting of inequivalent irreducible $\mathbb{Q}$-representations of $G$ of distinct degrees. Furthermore, we present a method to construct an irreducible rational matrix representation $ρ$ of $G$ affording the character $Ω(χ)$, where $χ$ is an irreducible complex character of $G$ arising from parabolic induction. Finally, using the results from the rational representations of $G$, we derive an explicit combinatorial formula, depending only on $q$, for the Wedderburn decomposition of $\mathbb{Q}G$. 2026-06-01T15:57:38Z Ram Karan Choudhary Sunil Kumar Prajapati http://arxiv.org/abs/2507.20902v2 Representation stability for the first homology of congruence subgroups 2026-06-01T14:46:12Z We study sequences of modular representations of the symplectic and special linear groups over finite fields arising from the first homology of congruence subgroups of mapping class groups and automorphism groups of free groups, as well as from the module of coinvariants for the abelianization of the Torelli group. The character sets considered here are defined by nonvanishing at given elements, not only by degree conditions. From this point of view, McKay's conjecture is usually recovered as a first degree-level consequence. The guiding idea is that the right local objects governing character values are not, in general, the sets ${\rm Irr}_{p'}(G)$ and the normalizers of Sylow $p$-subgroups, but rather the sets ${\rm Irr}^x(G)$ of irreducible characters not vanishing at a given element $x$, together with the subnormalizer subgroup ${\rm Sub}_G(x)$. I state the basic conjectures of this theory, propose stronger versions, and verify the main conjectures in several families, including the simple groups with TI Sylow $p$-subgroups. I also show how this perspective reorganizes several classical questions in character theory. 2026-05-12T11:39:18Z minor changes Alexander Moretó http://arxiv.org/abs/2507.05008v2 Quantum cluster algebras and representations of shifted quantum affine algebras 2026-06-01T09:10:18Z We construct a new quantization $K_t(\mathcal{O}^{sh}_{\mathbb{Z}})$ of the Grothendieck ring of the category $\mathcal{O}^{sh}_{\mathbb{Z}}$ of representations of shifted quantum affine algebras (of simply-laced type). We establish that our quantization is compatible with the quantum Grothendieck ring $K_t(\mathcal{O}^{\mathfrak{b},+}_{\mathbb{Z}})$ for the quantum Borel affine algebra, namely that there is a natural embedding $K_t(\mathcal{O}^{\mathfrak{b},+}_{\mathbb{Z}})\hookrightarrow K_t(\mathcal{O}^{sh}_{\mathbb{Z}})$. Our construction is partially based on the cluster algebra structure on the classical Grothendieck ring discovered by Geiss-Hernandez-Leclerc. As first applications, we formulate a quantum analogue of $QQ$-systems (that we make completely explicit in type $A_1$). We also prove that the quantum oscillator algebra is isomorphic to a localization of a subalgebra of our quantum Grothendieck ring and that it is also isomorphic to the Berenstein-Zelevinsky's quantum double Bruhat cell $\mathbb{C}_t[SL_2^{w_0,w_0}]$. 2025-07-07T13:47:54Z Francesca Paganelli 10.1007/s00209-026-04038-z http://arxiv.org/abs/2006.13218v3 Surface cluster algebra expansion formulae via loop graphs 2026-06-01T09:05:18Z In 2011 Musiker, Schiffler and Williams obtained expansion formulae for cluster algebras from orientable surfaces. We prove the existence of, and classify, $d$-tilting bundles consisting of line bundles on $d$-dimensional smooth toric Fano stacks of Picard number one or two. Their endomorphism algebras give natural examples of $d$-representation infinite algebras and are closely related to the derived McKay correspondence. The classification is motivated by dimer models: an internal perfect matching gives a positive grading on a dimer algebra, whose degree-zero part yields a $2$-representation infinite algebra. The algebras of type $\widetilde A$ introduced by Herschend--Iyama--Oppermann are higher-dimensional analogues of this construction in the simplex case. Applying the same principle to the next case leads to a new class of higher representation infinite algebras, which we call algebras of type $\widetilde A\widetilde A$. Upper sets provide a common framework for tilting bundles, toric non-commutative crepant resolutions (NCCRs), and cuts of higher-dimensional dimer-type quivers. In the Picard-number-one case, $d$-tilting bundles consisting of line bundles are parametrized by non-trivial upper sets in the Picard group, and their endomorphism algebras are precisely the algebras of type $\widetilde A$. In the Picard-number-two case, the upper-set construction becomes two-step: the first upper set determines the ambient toric NCCR, and the second selects an internal cut of its quiver. This classifies all such $d$-tilting bundles and realizes their endomorphism algebras precisely as algebras of type $\widetilde A\widetilde A$. Thus smooth toric Fano stacks of Picard number one and two serve as geometric models of algebras of type $\widetilde A$ and $\widetilde A\widetilde A$, respectively. Using these models, we also show that both classes are closed under $d$-APR tilts. 2025-11-04T15:06:03Z 57 pages, v4: Proofs of Theorems 3.5 and 5.5 are clarified Ryu Tomonaga http://arxiv.org/abs/2411.19936v3 Wonderful Compactification of a Cartan Subalgebra of a Semisimple Lie Algebra 2026-06-01T06:17:22Z Let $\mathfrak h$ be a Cartan subalgebra of a complex semisimple Lie algebra $\mathfrak g.$ We define a compactification $\bar {\mathfrak h}$ of $\mathfrak h$, which is analogous to the closure $\bar H$ of the corresponding maximal torus $H$ in the adjoint group of $\mathfrak g$ in its wonderful compactification, which was introduced and studied by De Concini and Procesi \cite{DCP}. We observe that $\bar {\mathfrak h}$ is a matroid Schubert variety and prove that the irreducible components of the boundary $\bar {\mathfrak h} - \mathfrak h$ of $\mathfrak h$ are divisors indexed by root system data. We prove that $\bar {\mathfrak h}$ is a normal variety and find an affine paving of $\bar {\mathfrak h},$ where the strata are given by the orbits of $\mathfrak h.$ We show that the strata of $\bar {\mathfrak h}$ correspond bijectively to subspaces of the corresponding Coxeter hyperplane arrangement studied by Orlik and Solomon, and prove that the associated posets are isomorphic. As a consequence, we express the Betti numbers of $\bar {\mathfrak h}$ in terms of well-known combinatorial invariants in the classical cases. We show that the Weyl group $W$ acts on $\bar {\mathfrak h}$, and describe $H^{\bullet}(\bar {\mathfrak h}, \mathbb C)$ as a representation of $W$, and compute the cup product for $H^{\bullet}(\bar {\mathfrak h}, \mathbb Z)$. 2024-11-29T18:51:58Z Published version Sam Evens Yu Li
