Exploiting the variational structure of the system, the existence of a sharp mass threshold M\textsubscr{c} > 0 is established: all solutions with mass below M\textsubscr{c} are global and bounded, while those with mass above M\textsubscr{c} and sufficiently negative energy are global but blow up in infinite time. Moreover, the value of the critical mass M\textsubscr{c} is related to the best constant of a variant of a Hardy-Littlewood-Sobolev inequality.2026-09-03T11:50:37Zmodified proof of Proposition 6.4Philippe LaurençotLAMAChristoph Walkerhttp://arxiv.org/abs/2609.11566v1Diffeomorphism Invariance of the Favre-Filtered Compressible Navier--Stokes System under Spacetime Dilation2026-09-10T13:59:41ZWe prove that the system of Favre-filtered compressible Navier--Stokes equations with subgrid-scale closure terms, written in the coordinates $(Lt,Lx_1,Lx_2,Lx_3)$ for an arbitrary parameter $L>0$, is obtained from the system written in standard coordinates $(t,x_1,x_2,x_3)$ by the action of a smooth diffeomorphism of the underlying spacetime manifold. The proof begins with a self-contained treatment of infinite-dimensional manifolds and the Fréchet manifold of smooth field configurations. We then define the one-parameter dilation group $\{φ_L\}_{L>0}$, verify that each $φ_L$ is a diffeomorphism, and compute its tangent and cotangent actions. The induced pullback action on sections of the configuration bundle is shown to commute with the total derivative operator, which implies that the first-jet prolongation of $φ_L$ maps the equation submanifold of the system onto itself. Equation-by-equation verification---continuity, momentum, and energy---confirms that every residual is multiplied by the common nonzero factor $L^{-1}$ (or, equivalently, is identically zero in the transformed coordinates), so that the solution set is preserved. We conclude that the family of systems parameterised by $L>0$ satisfies the diffeomorphism transformation expression and that solution spaces are canonically isomorphic for all $L$.2026-09-10T13:59:41Z14 pagesYuanya Lihttp://arxiv.org/abs/2404.13668v5Contraction properties and differentiability of $p$-energy forms with applications to nonlinear potential theory on self-similar sets2026-09-10T13:54:51ZWe introduce a new contraction property, which we call the generalized $p$-contraction property, for $p$-energy forms as generalizations of many well-known inequalities, such as $p$-Clarkson's inequality, the strong subadditivity and the Markov property in the theory of nonlinear Dirichlet forms, and show that any $p$-energy form satisfying $p$-Clarkson's inequality is Fréchet differentiable. We also verify the generalized $p$-contraction property for $p$-energy forms on fractals constructed by Kigami [Mem. Eur. Math. Soc. 5 (2023)] and by Cao--Gu--Qiu [Adv. Math. 405 (2022), no. 108517]. As a general framework of $p$-energy forms taking the generalized $p$-contraction property into consideration, we introduce the notion of $p$-resistance form and investigate fundamental properties of $p$-harmonic functions with respect to $p$-resistance forms. In particular, some new estimates on scaling factors of self-similar $p$-energy forms on self-similar sets are obtained by establishing Hölder regularity estimates for $p$-harmonic functions, and the $p$-walk dimensions of any generalized Sierpiński carpet and the $D$-dimensional level-$l$ Sierpiński gasket are shown to be strictly greater than $p$.2024-04-21T14:17:56Z170 pages, 14 figures; a number of minor corrections and modifications have been made, including relaxing the assumptions on $(X,m)$ in Subsection 4.3 to minimal onesNaotaka KajinoRyosuke Shimizuhttp://arxiv.org/abs/2609.11558v1The radial part of $p$-Brownian motion2026-09-10T13:50:01ZWe initiate a geometric theory of $p$-Brownian motion, the nonlinear Markov process associated with the $p$-Laplacian introduced by Barbu-Rehmeier-Röckner. More precisely, we analyze its radial processes thoroughly, relative to an arbitrary center and in every dimension. On the one hand, we show explicit Tanaka--Meyer semimartingale formulas; our consequential characterization of nontriviality of the associated local times reveals notable differences to classical Brownian motion. In parallel, we establish sharp exit time estimates as well as scaling estimates for the self-similarly rescaled radial process. We also prove isometry of the corresponding marginal laws in each Wasserstein distance. Our contributions equally cover the Leibenson process - the nonlinear Markov process associated with the "porous medium equation" with $p$-Laplacian - recently introduced by Barbu-Grube-Rehmeier-Röckner.2026-09-10T13:50:01Z31 pages. If $ Ω$ is convex and $ \partial Ω\in C^{1,1}$, we prove a sharp lower bound in terms of $p$-logarithmic mean of the principal curvatures of $ \partial Ω$. For the linear case $ p=2$, our estimate reduces to the logarithmic mean bound of Bundrock et al. (arXiv:2511.09490). We also derive an upper bound in terms of a boundary isocapacitary constant. where $N\ge3$, $β\in\mathbb{R}$, $ρ_1,ρ_2>0$, $\max\{0,\tfrac{N-4}{2}\}\le a<\tfrac{N-2}{2}$, $a<b<a+1$, $2^{\sharp}:=\frac{2N}{N-2(1+a-b)}$, $p,q>1$ and $2<p+q<2^{\sharp}$. Here $2^\sharp$ is the critical exponent of the Caffarelli--Kohn--Nirenberg inequality, and $λ_1,λ_2\in\mathbb{R}$ are unknown, since the two weighted masses are prescribed. We show that the ground state level is not attained for $β\le0$. For $β>0$ we obtain positive normalized ground states, with positive Lagrange multipliers, in the mass subcritical, mass critical, and mass supercritical regimes, for explicit ranges of $β$. In the mass supercritical regime, a threshold $β_0\ge0$ appears: a ground state exists for every $β>β_0$ and does not exist for $0<β<β_0$. We give conditions on $p,q$ under which $β_0=0$, and we prove that $β_0>0$ when $p,q\ge2$. Finally, we describe the ground states as $β\to0^+$ and as $β\to+\infty$: after a dilation, they converge to the ground states of the limit system without critical terms, or one component vanishes and the other concentrates on an extremal of the Caffarelli--Kohn--Nirenberg inequality.2026-09-10T12:59:24ZAsmita RaiDivya Goelhttp://arxiv.org/abs/2509.07458v2Parameter Identification in Reaction-Diffusion-Chemotaxis Systems from Single Turing Pattern Amplitudes2026-09-10T12:57:24ZTuring patterns encode key information about biological mechanisms, yet traditional inverse problems rely on non-biological data like boundary measurements, neglecting the patterns themselves. We introduce a new direction that directly uses the amplitudes of Turing patterns for parameter identification. Motivated by stripe-like biological patterns, we study two 1D models: one with density-dependent chemotaxis ($χ(n,c)=χ_0 n$) and one with ratio-dependent chemotaxis ($χ(n,c)=χ_0 n/c$). We present a framework that uses the spatial amplitude profile of a stationary pattern to recover system parameters, including wavelength, diffusion constants, and chemotactic and kinetic coefficients---offering a biologically grounded paradigm for reverse-engineering pattern formation.
The core contribution is a proof-of-concept showing that, under a Fourier truncation at mode $M=3$, the amplitude data can reconstruct the parameter combinations $\{d_n k^2,\, d_c k^2,\, χ_0 k^2,\, r\}$ for both models. These uniquely determine the ratios $d_c/d_n$ and $χ_0/d_n$, while individual parameters are recovered up to an overall scale. This is a purely theoretical work; numerical validation and stability analysis are left for future research. The framework is extensible to other models with suitable modifications.2025-09-09T07:26:36ZKeywords: Inverse reaction-diffusion equations, Turing patterns, Turing instability, periodic solutions, sinusoidal formInverse Problems and Imaging, September 2026Yuhan LiHongyu LiuCatharine W. We show that the Lions integrability condition $u\in L^4_tL^4_x$ together with Onsager-critical regularity in the nondissipative direction, $u\in L^3_tB^{1/3,v}_{3,\infty}$ with the Besov regularity imposed only in the vertical direction, implies $\partial_1u\in L^2_tL^2_x$, with a quantitative bound on the horizontal dissipation. Thus the dissipative regularity is a consequence of the equation and need not be part of the definition of the solution. If moreover $u\in L^3_tB^{1/3,v}_{3,c_0}$, then $u$ belongs to the isotropic critical Onsager space $L^3_tB^{1/3}_{3,c_0}$, satisfies the energy equality, and is continuous in $L^2$. Here $c_0$ indicates that the corresponding dyadic Besov sequence tends to zero at high frequencies. The proof combines absorption of the horizontal energy flux into the dissipation with a one-dimensional commutator estimate for the vertical energy flux.2026-09-10T12:56:53ZSiyu Lianghttp://arxiv.org/abs/2609.11468v1Parabolic-hyperbolic splitting in support propagation for stochastic porous media equations2026-09-10T12:37:38ZWe develop a randomly-localized energy method to derive qualitative results on the support propagation of stochastic porous media equations with linear conservative noise. Unlike in previous works, where energies are localized by weighting them with a spatial bump function, we weight them with profiles which are solutions to stochastic transport equations. This modulates out the support propagation due to the conservative noise term, and energy arguments---which otherwise fail in this setting---are again applicable. As a result, finite speed of propagation along with sufficient and necessary conditions on the existence of waiting time phenomena (modulo stochastic transport) are proven. These methods and results demonstrate, on short time scales, that the support propagation may be disintegrated into two independent parts, one due to the evolution of the porous media equation and one due to stochastic transport.2026-09-10T12:37:38Z28 pages, keywords: Porous media equation, conservative noise, qualitative properties, support propagation, waiting time phenomena, stochastic flows, stochastic transport equationMax SauerbreyJoshua Utleyhttp://arxiv.org/abs/2607.04294v2Microlocal defect functionals in VMO: Geometric localisation and applications to highly heterogeneous media2026-09-10T12:24:29ZWe extend the concept of microlocal defect functionals to test functions belonging to the space $\mathrm{L}^\infty\cap\mathrm{VMO}_c$. Following L.~Tartar's remark that an extension of such concepts to $\mathrm{VMO}$ spaces should be possible, we establish a functional-analytic framework for this extension within the $\mathrm{L}^p-\mathrm{L}^q$ setting. Because the topological dual of $\mathrm{VMO}$ is the Hardy space $\mathcal{H}^1$, the resulting object takes the form of an H-distribution rather than a non-negative Radon measure. By assuming strict Hölder conjugate inequalities, we use the John-Nirenberg inequality over localized domains to construct these functionals. We show that the functional acts as a distribution on the inductive limit topology of the test spaces, giving geometric localisation principles for equations with rough $\mathrm{VMO}$ coefficients, that is, coefficients admitting sharp transitions of vanishing mean oscillation. We illustrate the framework in three settings: stratified transport, zero-order non-local cross-phase energies, and sub-critical acoustic scattering in high-contrast media. These differ in the nonlinearity generating the companion sequence but share a common geometric conclusion, since in each case the macroscopic energy defect is confined to the characteristic variety of the underlying flow, being supported where $\sum_j a_j({\bf x})ξ_j=0$.2026-07-05T13:08:59ZWork in progressMarin Mišur
