By employing a fisheye camera model in conjunction with backward ray-tracing techniques, we simulate images for both prograde and retrograde accretion scenarios. The results indicate that the deformation parameter $ξ$ can partially mitigate the shadow deformation induced by the rotation parameter $a$. The inner shadow displays characteristic morphological transformations at varying observation angles, transitioning from an axisymmetric circular form at low angles to a hat-like configuration at higher angles. Furthermore, at high observational inclination angles, the direct image and the lensed image become distinctly discernible, and an increase in the deformation parameter $ξ$ enhances the observed intensity of the image. Interestingly, the motion behavior of the accretion flow influences the observed intensity distribution on the screen, a finding that is consistent with the redshift distribution. Hence, variations in the deformation parameter $ξ$, the observation angles, and the motion behavior of the accretion flow collectively influence the observable appearance of the black hole. We expect this work to provide valuable references for identifying observable signatures of spacetime deviations from general relativity.2025-01-12T11:29:05Z29 pages, 15 figuresKe-Jian HeYi LiuChen-Yu YangXiao-Xiong Zenghttp://arxiv.org/abs/2505.16863v2Unitary quantum matter-bounce in a universe with a positive cosmological constant2026-07-17T12:27:20ZWe analyze the Wheeler-DeWitt quantization of a spatially flat Friedmann-Lemaître-Robertson-Walker universe containing pressureless dust and a positive cosmological constant ($Λ> 0$). Following relational time framework, we establish a direct mathematical correspondence between the cosmological Hamiltonian and the radial Schrödinger equation for the scattering states of the non-relativistic hydrogen atom. This exact solvability allows us to rigorously construct the physical Hilbert space and ensure the self-adjointness of the Hamiltonian. As a concrete result, we show that the wave packets unitarily evolve depicting a non-singular quantum bounce, systematically replacing the classical Big Bang singularity. Finally, we discuss the physical relevance of this exact solution within the matter-bounce scenario. We demonstrate that this framework provides a robust quantum origin for a bounce during a dust-dominated contracting phase -- a necessary prerequisite for generating a scale-invariant spectrum of primordial perturbations -- derived from the unitary dynamics of the quantized background.2025-05-22T16:21:19Z17 pages, 5 figures, version accepted in European Physical Journal C. Though originating from distinct theoretical frameworks, both the inclusion and the non-inclusion of the creation field degree of freedom (DoF) involve a scalar DoF, which addresses some of the limitations of the standard $Λ$CDM model. Using a Lagrangian scalar field formulation and the first-order Hamiltonian reconstruction method, the HN $c$-field dynamics is shown to be encompassed by the GCG equation of state through an equivalent modified scalar field theory. Late-time acceleration and stability of linear perturbations are derived within this unified description. Our results suggest that creation field cosmologies may be embedded in a broader class of scalar field models which encompasses subtle modifications to the Hubble expansion rate and related physical observables.2026-07-17T12:12:20Z24 pages, 5 figuresUniverse 12, 215 (2026)Alex E. We study the dynamics of triple systems in a fully nonlinear setting. In particular, we analyze numerical relativity simulations of head-on collisions of black holes in the presence of a companion. We show evidence for Doppler and gravitational redshift in the ringdown, and clear signs of amplification by lensing. In certain cases, we also show the appearance of a second image, with hints of resonant mode excitation. Our results pave the way for the understanding of mergers in the vicinity of massive companions. Though these parameter estimates are important intermediate data products for downstream analyses, we demonstrate that they are generically biased and therefore should not be used for astrophysical interpretation directly, as is common. Hierarchical parameter estimation is the solution, as joint analysis of the entire catalog of observations reduces statistical uncertainties and actually informs the correct prior, with population-informed event parameters now appropriate for astrophysical interpretation. As an example, we show how the most extreme measurements from a catalog can be derived and used to identify exceptional events from previous and ongoing observing runs, pointing out they are more informative about the population than any individual event. Using LIGO-Virgo-KAGRA data, we thus demonstrate that population inference is not optional to interpret gravitational-wave observations.2026-04-17T09:31:16ZPhys. Rev. The static, spherically symmetric solutions are characterized by a dimensionless parameter $\ell > -1$ arising from the vacuum expectation value of the bumblebee vector field, which globally rescales the radial geometry. Massless scalar fields are analyzed via the radial Klein--Gordon equation cast into a generalized Helmholtz form, yielding an effective frequency-dependent refractive index that identifies oscillatory and evanescent regions, classical turning points, and confinement induced by curvature and Lorentz violation. In the high-frequency limit, wave propagation coincides with null geodesics, with $\ell$ controlling radial scaling and governing the geometric-optics limit. The AdS boundary reflects waves, while the horizon acts as a one-way absorber. Thermodynamic analysis in non-extended and extended phase spaces confirms the first law and Smarr relation, with $\ell$ influencing heat capacity, free energy, and stability. \textcolor{black}{Modeling these black holes as heat engines, we construct explicit cycles and show that efficiency increases with $\ell$, leading to an upper bound imposed by $η\leq 1$. Warp influences disc dynamics in ways that have been studied extensively, especially as regards instabilities that might lead to rapid angular-momentum cancellation between neighboring rings of fluid and mass infall. We provide a review of warped-disc phenomena here, revisiting key hydrodynamical assumptions that impact calculations of the shear viscosity controlling instability thresholds. Relativistic effects at the level of gas-parcel orbits are included, as are external Lorentz forces applied by the compact primary's magnetic field. Semianalytic analysis reveals that intense magnetic fields can bring about new branches of warp modes and avoided crossings that significantly reduce the perpendicular viscosity at sub-Eddington accretion rates. Critical strengths required for misaligned torques to tear a thin disc may thus relax for systems like neutron star X-ray binaries or radio-loud active galactic nuclei.2026-01-30T07:55:46Z24 pages, 12 figures, 1 table. We demonstrate the existence of very compact states close to the threshold of collapse, both for a single pulse, and a head-on collision of such pulses, and we measure their compactness to be above the maximum value proposed by the hoop conjecture. For a single pulse above the threshold of collapse, a fast black hole is produced. Depending on the amount of tuning, head-on collisions can form two horizonless states, two small black holes or one big black hole. Our results show that the gravitational interaction of massless fields can lead to nontrivial final or intermediate states, while giving rise to extremely high luminosity and compactness.2026-07-17T08:52:15Z9 pages, 7 figuresJorge Expósito PatiñoVitor CardosoHannes R. After compactifying the exterior domain, the radial problem is formulated as a quadratic matrix pencil in the dimensionless frequency. For the standard Dirichlet, or vanishing-field, boundary condition at the conformal AdS boundary, we reproduce the known scalar spectra across small, intermediate, and large black holes, including long overtone sequences and the expected approach to pure-AdS normal modes in the small black hole limit. We then deform the AdS boundary condition by imposing a generalized relation between the two independent asymptotic coefficients of the massless scalar. This deformation is treated as a generalized coefficient boundary condition for the massless scalar, and not as the usual alternative quantization for scalars in the Breitenlohner-Freedman window. The Dirichlet endpoint recovers the stable standard spectrum. For every non-Dirichlet value examined, and for representative small, intermediate, and large black holes, we find an additional mode with positive imaginary part, signaling a boundary-condition-induced instability. A near-Dirichlet refinement finds no finite critical angle down to the smallest deformation probed.2026-07-17T08:12:04Z24 pages, 3 figuresDavide BaticAlan S. CornellDenys Dutykhhttp://arxiv.org/abs/2506.22997v3Naturally resonant two-mediator model of self-interacting dark matter with decoupled relic abundance2026-07-17T07:31:34ZWe propose a minimal, fully thermal mechanism that resolves the long-standing tension between achieving the observed dark-matter relic abundance and explaining the astrophysical signatures of self-interactions. The framework introduces two mediators: a light scalar $φ$ (MeV scale) that yields the required, velocity-dependent self-interactions, and a heavy scalar resonance $Φ_h$ (TeV scale) with mass $m_{Φ_h}\!\approx\!2m_χ$ that opens an $s$-channel resonant annihilation during freeze-out. This clearly decouples early-universe annihilation from late-time halo dynamics. A detailed numerical analysis identified a narrow predictive island of viability. A representative benchmark with $m_χ\!=\!600$~GeV, $m_φ\!=\!15$~MeV, and $m_{Φ_h}\!\simeq\!1.2$~TeV reproduces the relic density and yields $σ_T/m_χ\sim 0.1$--$1~\mathrm{cm}^2\!/\mathrm{g}$ at dwarf-galaxy velocities while satisfying cluster bounds. The model makes sharp, testable predictions: a narrow $t\bar t$ resonance near $1.2$~TeV within HL-LHC reach, and a spin-independent direct-detection signal $σ_{\rm SI}\!\sim\!7\times10^{-48}\,\mathrm{cm}^2$ within next-generation sensitivity. As an optional UV completion, we show that walking $\mathrm{SU}(3)_H$ gauge theory with $N_f=10$ naturally realizes the near-threshold relation $m_{Φ_h}\!\approx\!2m_χ$ and can furnish an effective anomalous dimension $γ\!\approx\!0.5$ which underlies a density-responsive dark-energy sector, suggesting a unified origin for the dark sector.2025-06-28T20:15:51ZIncorporates the published corrigendum [Class. This enhancement generates a twofold gravitational wave (GW) signature: a \emph{low-frequency} stochastic background of scalar-induced GWs (SIGWs) and a distinct \emph{high-frequency} signal from subsequent PBH binary mergers. Assuming a monochromatic PBH mass function, we use PBH abundance constraints on the primordial curvature power spectrum to evaluate the stochastic SIGW background. We also compute the stochastic GW background from mergers of the corresponding PBH binaries, incorporating merger-rate suppression effects to obtain realistic estimates. Furthermore, we derive a model-independent correspondence between the characteristic frequencies of these two signals. This unified framework links these otherwise distinct GW channels, enabling the same primordial fluctuations to be probed across widely separated frequency bands.2026-07-02T07:30:54Zv2: 11 pages, 6 figures. The static, spherically symmetric building blocks of our spacetime are each exact solutions of the Einstein field equations, sourced respectively by the Hayward non-linear electromagnetic field and a quintessence fluid with equation-of-state parameter $ω<-1/3$; we combine and rotate them following standard practice for this class of models, and we are explicit throughout about the resulting metric's phenomenological status. Abandoning the stress-free inner boundary of the Novikov--Thorne--Page (NTP) model, we analytically incorporate a non-zero viscous torque $\Tcal_{\rm in}$ at the innermost stable circular orbit (ISCO) via the relativistic vertical epicyclic frequency $\Obot(r)$. We prove that the bolometric efficiency $η=[1-E(\rISCO)]\times100\,\%$ is strictly independent of the viscosity parameter $α$ but sensitive to both the Hayward length scale $l$ and the DE density $ρ_0$, establishing a rigorous two-observable degeneracy-breaking strategy. At benchmark parameters ($j=0.4$, $l=0.5M_{\BH}$, $ρ_0=2\times10^{-4}$), the combined geometry yields $η=8.71\,\%$, substantially above the vacuum Kerr value $7.51\,\%$ at the same spin. The viscosity correction $δ\Fcal/\Fcal_{\rm NTP}$ diverges at $r\to\rISCO^+$, amplified by the geometric odification of the boundary pressure: the viscosity amplification ratio rises from $0.80$--$4.52\,\%$ (vacuum Kerr) to $0.87$--$6.76\,\%$ (Hayward+DE) at $α=0.1$, providing a clean, monotonic observational discriminator accessible to \textit{NICER} and \textit{NuSTAR}, independent of the bulk spectral normalisation.2026-07-17T06:43:24Z12 pages, 5 figuresSandip Duttahttp://arxiv.org/abs/2607.09408v2Circuit and Krylov complexity of primordial perturbations of modified gravity in inflation2026-07-17T06:36:54ZIn this work, we investigate quantum complexity diagnostics of primordial curvature perturbations within the inflationary paradigm. We compare canonical scalar-field inflation with the modified gravity model $f(φ,R)$, focusing on the evolution of the two-mode squeezed state generated by the coupling between the $\vec{k}$ and $-\vec{k}$ momentum sectors. Starting from the quadratic action for curvature perturbations, we derive the evolution equations for the squeezed strength $r_k$ and squeezed angle $φ_k$, utilizing them to evaluate both circuit complexity and Krylov-space diagnostics. Specifically, we compute the Krylov complexity, Krylov entropy, Lanczos coefficients $b_n$, and an effective dissipative contribution $c_n$ within an open-system extension. Our numerical results demonstrate that the $f(φ,R)$ coupling enhances the squeezed strength relative to the canonical scalar field inflation. Since the Krylov complexity of the two-mode squeezed state is directly controlled by the mean pair number ($K=\sinh^2 r_k$), this enhancement leads to a smaller growth in Krylov complexity and related Krylov-space quantities. Furthermore, circuit complexity displays a more pronounced evolution in the $f(φ,R)$ framework, particularly after the horizon exit regime. Ultimately, our work sheds new light on the quantum complexity of modified gravity $f(φ,R)$.2026-07-10T13:42:33Z37 pages, 6 figuresTao LiHai-Bing Fuhttp://arxiv.org/abs/2510.23223v2Black hole echos reflect the phase transition and fluctuations in Hawking radiation2026-07-17T05:37:52ZBlack holes are thermal objects.
